Services

Three things, done properly every month. Pick where you are starting from, and I will handle it from there.

Monthly Bookkeeping

Who this is for: Owners whose books are current, or close to it, and who want them to stay that way without spending their evenings on them.

  • Every transaction categorized: income, expenses, draws and loans sorted the right way
  • Bank and card accounts reconciled to your actual statements
  • Personal spending kept separate as draws, not buried in expenses
  • Profit and loss and balance sheet every month, in plain numbers you can use

Catch Up and Rebuilds

Who this is for: Owners who are months behind and need the pile cleared properly before monthly bookkeeping can even start.

  • Books rebuilt from your bank records, oldest months first
  • Every account reconciled to the bank, with differences chased down and explained
  • Messy or missing months sorted into the right categories
  • A clean starting point, then a monthly routine so it does not pile up again

HST Tracking and File-Ready Numbers

Who this is for: Owners who want filing time to be simple, with nothing rebuilt in a panic at the last minute.

  • HST tracked on every sale and every expense as the work happens
  • Filing numbers kept ready to hand over, not rebuilt later
  • Unclear items go on a short questions list for you, instead of being guessed at
  • Numbers organized so whoever files your return can work fast

Not sure which one you need? That is exactly what the free review is for. I will tell you where your books stand and which starting point fits.

Why choose me

There are plenty of bookkeepers you could hire. Here is the honest difference: I am sitting on your side of the desk.

I am a business owner, not just a bookkeeper

I run a business here in Windsor-Essex, and I do this exact work on my own books every month. I hold my own operation to a high standard: current, reconciled, and ready for filing. You get that same standard on your books.

I understand how owners make decisions

Adding a service is a business decision, and owners should have clear numbers before they commit. I run my own business the same way: properly, with the books current and the costs understood up front. That is the approach I bring to your decision too.

You deal directly with me

When you message, you get me: the owner, and the person doing your books. No hand-offs, no call centre. Your books come back clean, reconciled, and accountant-ready, so filing is straightforward for whoever handles your return.

That is why everything here starts with a free review and a quote in writing. You see exactly what it costs and what you get before you spend anything, so you can decide with clear numbers.

How it works

No commitment up front. You see the state of your books and the full cost before you decide anything.

1

Free review of your books

Send me a message and I will review where your books stand right now: what is current, what is behind, whether the accounts reconcile to the bank, and what it would take to get them clean.

2

A straight quote in writing

Before any work begins, you get the state of things and the full cost in writing. You decide with real numbers in front of you, not a sales pitch and not a surprise later.

3

Cleanup first, then monthly

If the books are behind, we clean that up first. From there I keep them current every month: categorized, reconciled, and closed with statements ready for you.

Founding clients: I am taking on my first outside clients now. Founding rates are locked for your first six months, then reviewed with 30 days notice. The free review comes first either way.

What the free review covers

  • How far behind the books are, if at all
  • Whether the accounts reconcile to the bank
  • What a catch up or a monthly routine would involve
  • The full cost, before you commit to anything

What I need from you

  • Bank and card statements
  • Photos of receipts for the odd items
  • Quick answers on a short questions list each month
  • Never a banking password. Ever.

Behind on your books?

That is where a proper rebuild matters most. Months behind is a clear starting point, not a dead end. It gets handled the way I handle my own books: from the bank records up, until every account reconciles to the cent.

What a rebuild looks like

  • We start from your bank and card records, not from a messy file
  • Oldest months first, rebuilt one month at a time
  • Every account matched to the bank before we move on
  • Then monthly bookkeeping keeps it from piling up again

9 months

Rebuilt from the bank records up

This fall I rebuilt nine months of my own studio's books from the bank records up. Every transaction categorized, every account reconciled to the cent, and a clean, current set of books from there. It is the standard I run my operation to.

2nd business

Moved and caught up the same way

I moved a second business of mine off a cancelled accounting system and caught it up the same way: records rebuilt, accounts reconciled, and the books brought fully current.

About the owner

I'm Rob. I run a business here in Windsor-Essex, and I run Durocher Bookkeeping.

I do every bit of this for my own businesses first, and I keep them current every month. A well-run operation needs books that are accurate and up to date, and that is the standard behind this work.

I also understand that bringing in a bookkeeper is a decision owners consider carefully. As an owner myself, I know clear numbers matter before you commit. That is why every engagement here starts with a free review, so you see the state of your books and the full cost before you decide. If you already have someone handling it, no worries at all.

My work stops at clean, reconciled books. I keep your books so clean that filing is fast, and your HST numbers are ready to hand over.

Questions owners ask

The same questions come up on almost every first message. Here are the straight answers.

What does it cost?

Every business is a different size, so I quote after the free review, in writing, before any work begins. You see the full cost first and then you decide. For founding clients, that rate is locked for your first six months, then reviewed with 30 days notice. No prices are posted here because a real quote has to match your actual books.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. There is no long contract to get started. You see the quote in writing, you decide, and the monthly work continues month to month while it is useful to you. The only commitment I ask for is that we are clear in writing about what is included, so there are no surprises on either side.

How fast can a catch up be done?

It depends on how far behind you are and how complete your bank and card records are. The free review gives you a clear timeline in writing before you commit. What I can tell you from my own work is that a nine month rebuild is very doable when it is worked month by month from the bank records up, oldest first, until every account reconciles.

Do you need my bank password?

Never. Ever. I work from bank and card statements and photos of receipts for the odd items. You should never hand your banking password to a bookkeeper, including me.

Who files my taxes?

“I don't file your taxes. I keep your books so clean that filing is fast, and your HST numbers are ready to hand over.” That line matters to me. You should know exactly where my work stops, and it stops at clean, reconciled books that make everyone else's job easier.

Do I have to be in Windsor-Essex?

No. I am based in Windsor-Essex, and I work with clients remotely across Canada. Statements and receipts move by email, so distance does not change the work.

What does the free review commit me to?

Nothing. You get the state of your books and the full cost, and then you decide. If you already have your books handled, that is fine too.

Ready to get the books off your plate?

Tell me a little about your business and where your books stand. This builds an email to me, ready to send from your own email app. I will reply with what a review would look at and what happens next. If you already have someone handling it, that is fine too.
